A moisture survey below the waterline at our expense, and the readings go on the listing whatever they say. On a Westerly last spring they took eleven thousand off the asking price before anybody had viewed her.

A morning out of the loch with the sails up, at our cost in diesel and time. It is how we find the furler that jams on port tack, and occasionally it costs us the listing when the owner did not want to know.
Tired gear is fine and we will price it. A boat that has been laid up wet for six winters with a story attached is not, and we say no to a handful every season.
